CA-44 Louis Vandenberg presents American Fundamentalists by Joel Pelletier

Last night our friend Louis bit the bullet and generated some campaign funds by hosting an art showing by Joel Peletier.  American Fundamentalists is a striking large painting depicting the players that combined political, religious, and economic fundamentalism to gain power in America.

Louis doesn't get much love on this site.  Mostly for his lack of big dollar pull.  Who is going to fork over lots of cash for someone with a 15 point deficit in registration?  Well were going to fight every race in all 50 states right?  Louis stepped up when no one else would, and he would make a fine congressman.  Curious, Louis' deficit is just about equal to Chimps.  Should balance out and make for a fine race.  Well, not unless Louis succeeds in getting his message out.

Refreshing, yes that Louis thinks big money in politics is bad...Most people I have talked with think he should push his public financing ideas after there is public funding available.  Right now, a massive ad buy could easilly put Louis in the driver's seat, but it will be slow getting there at this pace.

As to the topic of last night's presentation.  It was a stunning and moving presentation of art that needed to be done.  I will cherish my signed poster of the piece.  When I have room to hang it I will, though looking at corrupt fundies even in a wonderful painting makes me sick.  It will be much easier to cherish after they are out of power.
